Tahoe Forest Health System achieved meeting all criteria within the BETA HEART® domain of Culture of Safety.
BETA HEART® (healing, empathy, accessibility, resolution and trust) is a coordinated program that guides healthcare organizations in how to implement a reliable, sustainable and transparent culture of safety.
The goals of BETA HEART® are to develop an empathic and clinically appropriate process that supports healing of both the patient and clinician after an adverse event; ensure accountability for implementing reliable systems that support the delivery of safe care; provide a mechanism for early, ethical resolution when harm occurs as a result of medical error or inappropriate care; and instill trust between clinicians and patients.
