Primary mission
- To raise funds used toward the purchase of specialized medical equipment
- To help improve the quality of care our hospital patients receive
- To fund scholarships for students entering the health care field
- To consider requests for health care needs within the community
The auxiliary also operates a year-round gift shop with an all-volunteer staff on the first floor of the hospital. The gift shop offers unique merchandise, which is constantly being updated.
The NLTCHCA Executive Board meets on the first Monday of every month, and general membership lunch meetings are held every other month on the second Monday beginning in February. The monthly "Hot Flashes!" newsletter keeps members informed of past and upcoming activities.
The North Lake Tahoe Community Health Care Auxiliary is active in fundraising for Incline Village Community Hospital and other causes in the local community. In any given month, you'll find auxiliary members contributing to the community through the gift of funds for special projects, hosting events that bring people together, and helping to raise money for many worthy projects. Most of the auxiliary's fundraising activities take place during the summer and have traditionally included a lobster dinner in July and a golf tournament in September. In addition, the auxiliary hosts monthly hospital staff luncheons, and members serve as ambassadors of the hospital with internal and external audiences.
During the auxiliary’s past 30 years, the organization has donated more than $703,875 to the Incline Village Community Hospital and $306,266 in scholarships to the community for students going into medical-related fields and has given more than 115,297 hours of volunteer service to the hospital and the community.
Two of our members, Nan Healy and Ginny Moore, were recognized in the Bonanza newspaper's "Locals 2006" for their selfless service to Incline Village. Nan Healy, Jean Klein and Holly Lefkowitz have received Excellence in Volunteerism awards from the Nevada Hospital Association for rural Nevada. In 2022 Nan Healy received the Making a Difference in Volunteerism Award from the NHA.
