Mammography Coming to IVCH

The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust

Just recently, the IVCH Foundation was awarded a grant of $1.9 million by The Helmsley Charitable Trust in support of 3D Mammography equipment for Incline Village Community Hospital. This endowment will cover not only the cost of the equipment, but also the renovation expenses surrounding this new service line at IVCH.

The TFHS Diagnostic Imaging Department recently recognized that approximately 4,400 females, ranging in age from 40 to 100, currently live in Incline Village and qualify for mammography screening services. Presently, accessing this care requires driving between 25-40 miles. In the not-too-distant future, however, this important diagnostic service will be available right here at IVCH! We thank The Helmsley Charitable Trust team for collaborating with the IVCH Foundation as our Hospital works toward providing this lifesaving service.

It is important to note that this Mammography grant was presented in addition to a separate, $1.8 million endowment received by the IVCH Foundation in 2022 from The Helmsley Charitable Trust. Resources to purchase a new, 128 slice CT Scanner and fixed X-Ray device for the Hospital were covered with this generous funding. Additionally, The Helmsley Charitable Trust presented $87,000 to secure point-of-care ultrasound equipment for IVCH.

The Helmsley Charitable Trust recently added Nevada as the eighth state in its Rural Healthcare Program, providing grants to help 10 Nevada hospitals purchase state-of-the-art diagnostic and radiology equipment. In the last decade, The Helmsley’s Rural Healthcare Program has provided over $500 million to organizations and initiatives aimed at improving healthcare for rural patients. It is a privilege for the IVCH Foundation team to collaborate with them to advance our Hospital’s local, lifesaving care.
