Using proceeds from our Emergency Assistance Fund, the IVCH Foundation was able to purchase emergency radios for our Hospital Emergency Department. These unique radios give our ER staff access to the Paramedics’ channel, used by First Responders, when dispatched to calls in our area related to accidents or other 911 emergencies. Two of the greatest benefits of having access to this equipment are that it not only allows our ER employees to hear what is happening in anticipation of in-coming patients, it also notifies our team in advance when patients receiving care from Paramedics in our area might be re-routed to alternate hospitals.
