My name is Karli Epstein, executive director overseeing both Health System Foundations: Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation and Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation. Since starting with the health system in January 2017, I have felt extremely honored to be part of an organization that adds so much value to our community. So often I hear how Tahoe Forest Health System provides care with a high level of professionalism and grace, and I am committed to contributing to TFHS in the same way through the work of our Foundations.
Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation is here to support the hospital’s vision to be the best mountain health system in the nation and is committed to helping the hospital provide the service you need the most. We are thrilled to announce that we now have seven-day-a-week Primary Care service available at our Multispecialty Clinics. And, as always, our emergency room is open seven days a week, 24 hours per day. Having access to local healthcare is vitally important. This winter provided a reminder; due to road closures and tough driving conditions, traveling far from home can be nearly impossible in our mountain home. Thankfully because of TFHS, health care is available right in the heart of town.
As many of you know, we are gearing up for the 20th anniversary of our Best of Tahoe Chefs event on June 2nd. This distinctive evening is one of the hospital’s major fundraising events, with proceeds directly benefiting the patient and family support programs at our local Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center. I truly hope that you will join us for an extraordinary cause and some amazing food and wines provided by over 30 of the best chefs in our region. We are honored that these culinary artists feel passionately about supporting our outstanding facility and exceptional cancer care services.
After 10 rewarding years, the Gene Upshaw Memorial Golf Classic will not be occurring in 2019. Our deepest thanks go out to Terri Upshaw and her Executive Committee, as well as all of the sponsors, celebrities, golfers, and volunteers that successfully steered the event over the past decade!
